Reading about D-Day the 6th of June 1944 again to mark the 80th (!) anniversary. The initial stages featured paratroopers and gliders. Occurs to me that there are probably next to none comedians in Iran and none at all in North Korea. Could we then construct a Comedy Index of number of comedians per head of population, the higher the CI the more civilised the country? But then what about the USA in the era of Trump?

Turning 79 is not nothing but it has that last of the summer wine vibe (or perhaps more accurately dregs of the summer wine). Turning 80 on the other hand will be entering an unknown land that no one escapes alive. \”Not cheery\”? Not cheery.
