Pan anthropoid

Just as well some chimp didn’t
invent a chimpanzee god,
Pan perhaps,
and then incite his followers
to attack and kill all the followers
of all the different human gods.
Still, if he had, maybe chimps
would be given human rights
having proved themselves
all too human.
