When I walk in Autumn
I study the ground
avoiding treading on
an ant, storing food for Winter.
When I walk in Winter
I study the ground
avoiding treading on
a worm, escaping cold wet ground.
When I walk in Spring
I study the ground
avoiding treading on
a frog, looking for a mate.
But when I walk in Summer
I study the ground
avoiding treading on
a snake, wanting to kill me.
